I am currently restoring my 1969 Hugger Orange, RS Camaro and am trying to locate the original 427 engine. I bought the car when I was 18 without the original engine. The car was sold new by Bob McDonald Chev-Olds in Halifax to someone around Bridgewater. It then went to Peter Cotter in Lockeport where it has been ever since. A gentleman by the name of Lionel Cameron in Lockeport had the engine and a 64 or 66 Chevelle Convertible.
Lionel was killed in a car accident before he finished the project and the family gave the car and engine to Charlie Kane (an old friend of Lionel). I believe Charlie lived in Tantallon. I have talked to Charlie’s brother Gerry in Jordan. Charlie died in 1995 of cancer. Gerry told me that Charlie sold the car and engine prior to his death so that his wife would not have to deal with it.
The car and engine may or may not be together. If rumors are true then the block is a CE as it was replaced under warranty. If such is the case then it has no value to me. If it retains the vin then I’m willing to pay market value. If you have some information about this engine can you contact me at TChetwynd@mcdermott.com. Thanks
